Vertebrogenic Low Back Pain, also called simply Low Back Pain, is axial low back pain that is midline and worse with prolonged sitting or activity, often without radicular symptoms.
This type of back pain arises from degenerative changes in vertebral endplates leading to inflammation. This inflammatory areas are seen and referred to as Modic changes on imaging.
Patients often report increase in low back pain symptoms with prolonged sitting or bending forward, which places more pressure on the inflamed areas.
